This hat box has the diameter I need. I like the quality and how it works. At first I thought I didn't need the height. Then I saw that I could fit my other smaller diameter cardboard hat box inside and stack the extra wide brim hats on top all inside this hat box. My use of the box is for household storage not travel; it suits my purpose well. Not being overly stiff, it allows me to stack hats creating a small bump on top from the hats. I wouldn't stack anything on top of it anyway, so I'm glad that it lets me stack all my hats (and another hat box) inside.
